I suck so bad at this – i had to wear flats to my prom, because i was too worreied about not being able to enjoy myself at prom if i wore heels. but i do wanna do this because heels just look so nice, other than making me look taller they actually make my legs look nicer! which is always a bonus, right?

My husband says I look like a drag queen just starting out when I try to walk in heels. The fact that I wear size 10 shoes doesn’t help either. Practicing though!!

I was and am a total tom boy. Blue jeans and tennies – better yet, cut offs and bare feet! But I was going to be “all girl” for my Jr. Prom… so I brought my heels to school every day for two weeks and my girl friends helped me practice! I was so proud at the dance – I didn’t trip on anything – not my dress, the stairs, getting out of the car, anything! And, to make things even better – I didn’t spill anything on my dress, either! Still a highlight in my high heel career! ... later I married a man 1 foot 4 inches taller than me – I learned to chase toddlers in 4 inch heels! Who’d have though!

...my high heels. Even though it took me an age to come around to the idea that heels were good and could be comfortable (they can! I promise!).

I now make sure I wear them every day at work at the very least and, as far as walking without toppling over is concerned, it’s all about the practice!

I’m a flats person, myself, but every woman should know how to walk in high heels… if only so that she can be all the more forceful when swearing never to wear them.

I would never swear off high heels; even though I prefer flats, I enjoy having the freedom to make myself taller, more imposing, simply with the donning of a pair of shoes. In fact, I feel that… but that’s another matter.

Ok, so they weren’t too high – but I didn manage to keep them on for an entire date. Luckily, most of the time was spent sitting and eating steak rather than walking around. As far as the tumbling goes, I only had one close call when i was walking in wet grass and one heel sunk into the ground a little I almost stumbled, but managed to catch myself.

First i need a place to wear high heels to. . . 2 years ago

I own quite a few pairs of heels, but rarely have occasions to wear them. I’m usually either barefoot or in flip flops, so it’s hard enough for me to even wear regular shoes, let alone heels. When I do actually wear heels, it’s painful and awkward, so I usually just end up taking them off and going barefoot. Maybe first I should try to find a more comfortable pair of heels. Do they exist?

You know you’ve mastered it when you can dance in high heels, but then your feet are killing you the next day!

i’m more of a practical sort of gal. it was years before i’d even allow myself to wear heels- i didn’t see the point. but then i quickly was able to master the fine art of walking in heels; i can now managage walking in 4 in. stilletos. however, i’d still say that it’s best to stick to flats- in the long run, it’s better for you, considering walking in heels too much shortens your calves. and besides, flats are just downright more comfortable.
