I remember reading somewhere that the trash we throw away are a mirror of who we are today. When we buy something, it is in hope of becoming it. ‘It’ refers to the lifestyle we’re buying into whenever we buy an item. We do not just immediately become ‘it’ upon purchase.
Like a snake, we have to shed our old skin to allow for the new to grow.
It hit me how we will never completely be what we want to be until we decide to give the old stuff up. Maybe it’s a natural physical resistance to change at subconscious level, as these unwanted things we see daily constantly remind us how we used to live.
I will be moving home from my grandmother’s place to my own home in about two months, and I have made a promise to myself to only bring along the essentials, and a few sentimentals I truly want to hold on to.
There is a feeling of lightness that comes with a clutter free life. And in two months, I want to breathe easy and truly live, wild and free.

WHY I HELD ONTO ALL THIS STUFF???
Especially people, places and things, that are no longer in my life, and no longer in my present pursuit of happiness.
Time to let go.
Emails too.
I am on a Deleting Rampage, and all that should be left when I’m done. Is a Peace of Mind.
It’s so true, you can run, but you CAN’T hide, your clutter will find you! That’s why forget about kicking ass and taking names.
With clutter you need to be:
Flicking Papers and Tearing Names!
Thanks for the encouragement in your post you Clutter Clearers!
Let’s Do It!

Making getting rid of stuff a game has really helped. Instead of feeling overwhelmed when I open a cabinet and am faced with more clutter, I look at it and say “HA! Your days are numbered you sucker!”
I’m weighing everything that goes out (part of Fly Lady’s ‘Super Fling Boogie’) and I’m at 106 pounds today!
I’m also seeing all the storage spaces I want to use for Useful Things instead of hanging on to something I might use “Some Day”.
It feels so incredibly freeing!

I cleaned off my desk at work today. It’s still a bit messy, because I’m trying to fit my laptop on it too, but it’s way better than it was. Now to clean at home. Room needs more progress tonight…laundry?
