How to buy a car of my own
How I did it: I just kept focusing on what I wanted and picturing myself in the car that I wanted. And then I just saved my money for the downpayment and negotiated with the dealership for the best deal. I ended up getting a car that I love with all the maintenance and tons of other things covered for 3 years, I don't even have to pay to get my oil changed!
Lessons & tips: Wait until the end of the summer to get the best deal.
Resources: Make sure you go to the dealership with someone who is experienced in buying cars and has done it several times...you want to make sure you ask as many questions as possible and get everything in writing, and don't be salesperson you are working with...if its swayed by the friendly personality of the not a good deal, you can find a better deal somewhere else.

One of my mom’s coworker’s relatives was selling a car of hers for $1000. I bought it outright and had a part replaced and it drives fine.
I honestly would love to have my own little car. It would give me so much freedom. Although now I think about it perhaps just taking hubby to work and keeping the car for me and the girls during the day would also be fine.
Guess I just need to get out more … (see other ‘things’)
It’s funny how all the things I want to do are linked. Any body else found that? It’s almost like doing one thing will help me with another … hmmmm.
But no, in the future, it would be BRILLIANT to have my own car. Maybe when the girls are in school and I go to work. Eeeeesh maybe I should put that as another thing I want to do!!
still have not gotten a car. but now that i’m in jersey, i might need one soon. i think the perfect car would be the mini cooper. it’s small (perfect to park anywhere in jc or hoboken), and its not like i have children or anything, so i don’t need a huge car. also, its made by bmw, so that must be good, right? its so me. maybe for graduation, but who knows. it would be sweet though. :) the lady i babysit for told me not to get a jetta (or vw in general), she hates the interior of hers. i know other people that really like theirs though, but its funny she says that because my dad has always said he hates the interiors of them too. i dunno. because my initial thought was to get a jetta. but now i don’t even care, just give me something!
i’m starting to look at cars. i’m probably going to buy a jetta. i don’t want something that i’ll feel ridiculous in or childish when i’m 25, but i also don’t want a mom or dad car. plus they aren’t too expensive, and i think they’re adorable. i used to want a beetle really bad, but i think i’d feel really stupid riding in one going to a real job or something. don’t get me wrong, they’re cute, but just so not for me, and so not me. i can imagine getting into some kind of accident with one and being embarassed because it’s just sort of a silly looking car, and you’re in this horrible situation with a funny car. anyway, i usually write these things figuring no one will read them, but here you are reading it, so i better start making more sense. anyway, the jetta i found has pretty good milage and is a 2000. i feel like 2000 wasn’t that long ago, but alas, it was 6 years ago. if it’s 2006, do you think driving a 2000 car is outdated or a waste of money? i wish i knew!
