Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

You guys will NOT believe this! The administration and “important big wig’s” took my sculpture down from the fountain at Francis Marion University!

They said it was…inappropriate.

They told him that my sculpture of the reclining figure was…inappropriate. HOW IS IT INAPPROPRIATE?! It’s the human body! We all have a body. It’s not a big deal. CHILL OUT.

Then they MOVED it back into the studio lab! Without question! Even the chair was upset with the fact that they were like, NO.

F**k all of them….

i’m creating FOUR sculptures next spring for my senior show. Lets see how they’ll respond to THAT. 7 years ago

YAY! I forgot to take a picture of her before i chopped her up! hehheh…but YAY! I’m really excited. I want to do my senior show on poses and gestures of figures made out of clay. :) I dunno. heh…i’m so happy…. 7 years ago

It looks so awesome. It HAS to be the most interesting thing i’ve ever created. I will take pics… 7 years ago

ac_195Truckin' along...

Okay. Last night, i plastered my 12 year old sister. Yes, she complained…a lot. heh heh. Today, well…this afternoon, I’m going to plaster her legs and arms. I thought i could just “free lance” off of her arms and fashion them out of clay…but i don’t think i can. I am going to freelance her face and head. I don’t want the face to look like her, but i do want the body to be hers.

The plaster of her torso turned out well…i just have to press the clay (carefully!) into the figure. I need to buy the plaster strips because they’re so convenient. Now, I’m going to go press the clay into the mold… 7 years ago

I only have 9 days and i haven’t STARTED. Gah. I need to buy some plaster and plaster my little sis…but my teacher left to go to Kentucky and i have a lot of questions for him. My sister is 5’6 and even when i hollow out the clay…she will be HEAVY. So she has to come apart to be fired…and i have to make sure she’s hollow. I’ll create the head today in class….then ask my professor specific questions regarding that. uh huh uh huh i can do it… happy dance7 years ago
