Day 5 2 months ago

First, some background history. I have been exercising 6 days, for the last 10 weeks, doing a Kickboxing/Resistance bands class. I lost several inches but no weight loss. I did not alter my diet in any way at all. I started last Friday on Isagenix. For the last 4 days I have done shake days, mixing up the powder with water and pouring over ice. I like the shakes and don’t mind eating my sensible meal during dinner time with my family. Since this was a holiday weekend, I did drink alcohol and over indulge in small town bar food, but I still have lost 8 pounds to date. Today is my first cleanse day so I am excited to see what results that will produce. I don’t mind the taste of the products but I also realize that most diet/energy/vitamin/herbal/mineral weight loss products do have a bland/chalky/off taste to them.

I’m sorry I have not posted my progress here. This week has been crazy busy and I’m not feeling physically well. I’m guessing it’s my body detoxing, as I have these cold sores in my mouth, tired, sluggish, super low energy, yet I still have a zillion things to do. My blood pressure went from high a week ago dropping to too low levels for me.

Today is Day 25—I have not been remembering to weigh myself, but that’s fine because I’m not supposed to be weighing myself daily anyway. I don’t feel right now like I’m dropping weight and feel a bit bloated (the past few days but not right now). I haven’t been 100% strict on my shake days and in fact, Tues/Wed only had 1 shake each day rather than 2 shakes which I’m supposed to.

Yesterday was my 4th cleanse day and today I had big time black diarrhea poo. I’ve put in some questions to my coach who is amazing, what does it mean to have the black after nearly a month of the cleanse rather than earlier? What does that say about my body? I’ve been waiting for the black poo and it’s finally happened, so I’m so excited.

I’ve had such a busy week, and on low energy, it’s made things more challenging. So, it’s required that I spend very little time on the internet unless I’m working on trading.

My coach doesn’t want me to focus on weight/measurements right now, but to really feed my body the nourishment that it needs. The results will eventually follow. He’s taking into account I was a former long-term exercise addict and that I didn’t give my body the nutrition it needed.

I’m learning a lot and wished I had the time to share all that is happening, but being a single mommy of 2 young children and running my trading business keep me very busy. I’m committed to the children’s and my healing/recovery and our success.

Stress does a lot of bad stuff to the body when it isn’t managed properly, so it’s going to take much more than 90-days to “fix” me, but that’s okay. The money will come to pay for all this continued, because I am overall feeling more stable and clearer mentally. Some very exciting and interesting things are happening.

Detoxing 12 months ago

I’ve been doing a lot of detoxing and energy work over these past 3 months. Since starting on the Isagenix cleanse, here is what the energy work looks like for me:

Mon – yoga
Wed – yoga & EMDR
Thurs – Isagenix cleanse
Fri – yoga & massage therapy

I also do EFT, which is another form of energy psychology. This, I have not consistently done, but do periodically as needed or as I feel like it. With all this energy work going on in my body, it’s fairly intense.

Plus, being on the Isagenix program, it’s cleansing my body of all this crap stored in it from stress, mental/emotional/physical abuse, and poor eating. Every day I take stuff for it.

I’ve noticed since I started doing EMDR at the end of July that keeping my blood pressure lower has been a challenge. Though I have not got testing in my electrolyte levels, though I do drink a lot of water (just not always consistent), water doesn’t have the electrolytes in it that I think my body is needing to replenish itself.

I’ve taken my blood pressure the past few days and it’s been a bit on the high side, inspite of all this energy work and drinking lots of water. The headaches haven’t come, but seeing my BP high is not good.

Today I drank a few sips of gatorade, added a banana to my shake, took an Isagenix Snacks!, took some Fish Oils, a DHEA pill. I’m not sure which of those worked, but I went from 149/88 dropping down to 120/70.

After yoga, it was still pretty high. Then, I took one of those Isagenix Snacks! and took my BP within 15 min. later and got the 120/70 reading. Normally I would feel nauseated and dizzy with it going 29/18 in reading in a short amount of time.

Anyway, with all this energy/detox work, my body is requiring more than water. I’m also needing more rest. Usually I’m fairly wiped out after my EMDR sessions, and somewhat tired after the massage.

Progress Update 12 months ago

I’ve so far as of Day 19 lost 8.5 lbs, 15.75” overall, and 4.92% bodyfat.

I will be eating more, so maybe that will help me to continue to lose and maybe lose better, as well as stave off the cravings. The cravings are basically my body telling me I need to give it more.

I’m wondering if I will be able to reverse insulin resistance to become insulin sensitive again, as well as get rid of my high blood pressure, which I’m thinking they are inter-related. We’ll see overtime.

Protein Cravings 12 months ago

My main coach, RC, told me I should be eating more. When I am hungry, to add an extra shake or 2 a day. He wants me to take some vitamin stuff, and add more protein to the shakes.

He said the Isagenix cleanse are for a different type of people, not typically for people who already eat healthy & exercise. Because I have so much lean body mass, he says I need to do things a bit differently.

Thankfully he understands and he wants me to better feed my body the nutrition it is craving. He also suggested I take these other capsules more frequently to help me better regulate my BM’s. He asked me what they looked like. Yes, that’s important. Weird conversation.

Anyway, I don’t want my body to think I’m starving it. He says my body will tell me what it needs and it’s been so craving protein. So, I’ll see what happens when I add an extra shake or 2 a day and add more protein to my diet.

Day 18 12 months ago

This is a shake day. Unfortunately I spent too long not eating and was super hungry. I stopped by Burger King. Arrrghhh. But, I’m still having my 2 shakes for the day.

My weight this morning was down by 8.5 lbs total, so I lost a pound from the cleanse. Love cleanse days as I have no cravings, but it seems I’ve been craving protein big time on my shake days.

Today I did 3 hrs of exercise about and burned 1700+ calories: core weightlifting, walking, and yoga. I’m surprised I burned so many calories in yoga, as it was yin.

I was supposed to have taken measurements today, but forgot, so I will hopefully remember to do it tomorrow morning. I haven’t had as many bowel movements that I was hoping. Hmmm.

Day 17 12 months ago

Cleanse Day. When I weighed myself at the beginning of the day, I was at only a loss of 6 lbs instead of the 7.4 lbs. Guess the whopper and having a bit more food the 3-4 days prior equated to a gain some.

As I write this, so far I’ve had 2 of the 4-oz. juice things and am ready to do my 3rd one shortly. So far, it’s been fine. I’ve had energy in the morning, but was feeling tired for the afternoon and took a nap. It was a bit longer than supposed to.

I got some dancing DVDs for cheap off eBay which I can do with the kids. There is a lot of hip action, lots of core movement. Took breaks from trading and with the kids to do some of these dance things. It’ll look so much better when I can whittle my waist down.

Day 16 12 months ago

Today is a shake day, but I’ve only had 1 shake, which was in the morning. Didn’t eat lunch so then I was starved and on the road. Ended up eating a whopper. Oh no. Junk food and fast food at that.

Then, later this evening, I had leftovers, which I should’ve had a shake instead. So, that was my deviation. Not good.

Tomorrow is a cleanse day.

Days 13-15 12 months ago

Shake Days.

I’ve been challenged to eat correctly for my one meal.

I’m still at 7.4 lbs total loss.

Don’t think I’m keeping hydrated enough. I’m looking forward to the cleanse day, which I seem to do better on than shake days.

I’ve been craving a lot of protein.

Day 12 13 months ago

This is a shake day. Will be basically doing the same thing as Day 11.

I’m down 7.4 lbs total in 12 days. Down 4.23% bodyfat. Waist is down 2.5”. Almost half way there for this month.
