I emptied my Yahoo inbox. (Again, it seems, after looking at my previous entry from not too long ago.) All of the old read messages have been filed away into the appropriate folders or deleted. Flushed. Purged.
How refreshing and satisfying it feels to look at the top of the screen and see: “No unread emails in your Inbox”. There are no emails at all, haha!
Now, if only my Google inbox were this easy to tackle.

I’m only just there on work, so it’ll doubtless slip, but this has actually been useful because:
1. Filing live issues that are dragging on gets them out of the way so you can concentrate on other business.
2. Dumping stuff you’re never going to get to is actually very liberating.
3. Pulling out data like cards and family photos and putting them where you can enjoy them is actually really nice.

I’m now aiming for >100 on my work emails and >50 on all personal addresses.

getting there
Work inbox down to 200
Yahoo down to 450
Gmail down to 100
Livejournal down to 0
Facebook down to less than 50
(100 or less on all will count as a win)

I emptied my old Yahoo inbox. Satisfying to look at, but it’s just one baby step. There are much bigger fish to fry. MUCH.

I actually have 2 inboxes. Today I got rid of more than 80 messages from the smaller inbox, leaving 227 to clear. The larger inbox has 1167 “conversations” in.

I’ve also been clearing my spam folders. At work, I’m aiming for putting 20 messages to bed a day. Doing OK, I guess.

Although I do it fairly regularly at work.

I still haven’t gotten rid of anymore of the older ones, but I’m diligently not letting any new ones build up! Kinda like not using your credit card while you’re working on paying off the balance!
