How to buy an orchid by LookingAhead

"Althought it was a long-time goal, it was accomplished in five minutes when I stumbled across the right orchid at the right place at the right time for the right amount of money. Voila!"

How I did it: I went online and did some research on orchids and their care. But then I realized I didn't want anything fancy, I just wanted a "pet-quality" orchid and decided just to wait until the right opportunity presented itself. Yesterday I was at a local store and stumbled across a beautiful miniature light-chiffon yellow and magenta orchid for $17 and knew it was The One. Now the challenge is seeing if I can keep it alive since I have a black thumb.

    I love orchids and have plenty of fake ones. I was very determined to buy a real one today. I went to the greenhouse and found gorgeous orchids for $40. They’re not too expensive…but I don’t have the best track record with plants. So I bought a $5 plant and made a goal: -If I keep it alive for a month, I’ll buy a real orchid.
