So I’ve been studying Publishing/Journalism for 3 years now, next is my last. I’ve just finished a wonderful placement but I’ve always been unsure as to whether or not this is what I want to do. Sitting at a desk designing brochures for companies is not my idea of fun! However I have always been interested in doing Primary Teaching, I’m thinking of doing a post-grad in this, yet again though I have no idea if this is for me.
1st step: get some experience working with kids!

I really want to study Humanities. But it is such a broad subject that it’s not offered in many colleges as a 4-year degree.
I simply adore studying the history of human experience and conditions of human life.
I still don’t know what a degree in Humanities will open up in the way of a career. Perhaps I will be a writer, researcher, teacher, or advocate.
I still have time to sort it all out. Except, I’d have to leave town to study and don’t know how practical (affordable) that will be for me and my husband at this time.
I suppose it’s a matter of how badly I want this degree type.

I went to college, got a degree in math, didn’t want to go for an advanced degree. Became trained as a teacher, tried that (granted in a tough situation) for a couple of years, got fired, not to mention practically traumatized by it. I need something fulfilling, not boring, and not too overwhelming to handle. It seems like “boring” and “way too overwhelming” actually overlap for me because of my poor organizational/executive functioning skills combined with my active intellect. HELP!

Kirsten is trying to think of 43 things!
I’m pretty sure I’ve done it… started specific schooling for it… looking for entry level jobs in the same market to maybe work my way up… who knows?

I have done almost every type of job there is out there that doesn’t require a degree of course. From manual labaor harvesting sugar beets to security to nanny to librarian to cook etc. And I enjoyed each one of them alot, except I would get bored or find some excuse to move on. If only I could decide on what one thing I would want to be.

I’d like to find myself in a museum or archaeological site in the Middle East, being consulted for my great knowledge…
