It's not that I've given up as much as that I've changed paths....  — 3 months ago

I highly doubt I’ll ever see this goal come to light because I’ve found something bigger than being just a writer…. well, bigger for me at least.

Now, I’m working towards becoming a makeup effects artist so I can work on films…. with time I’d like to write the films I work on and perhaps even direct and have small character roles in them, too.

I don’t know if I’ll ever write more than the one book I did finish… I think it’ll be mostly screenplays from here on out.

But the heart of this goal I’m still doing… to make a living creatively. And I think that’s what’s really important and now I know I’m on the path towards doing this. :D

Slow and steady  — 4 months ago

There’s an impossible chasm between the writing and the making money… but sometimes I just have to step off a cliff.

    It’s good for me. Really.

Finding New Ways  — 1 year ago

Ok, so I’m moving out of Fargo in order to help reach this goal. I’m thinking that if I get out of the area that’s filled with people holding me back and start reaching for new things then I’ll be better able to work.

I’m moving to San Diego it looks like! And I’ve been talking to people down there, trying to find people that I can move forward with and be creative with.

And I found Vinny, an inspiring animation artist who lacks ideas for story/skills with writing. So when I move down there I’m going to write stories for him to animate and we’re going to try pitching them and get them picked up.

I also have been working on Bviews to get writing regularly, too. My goal is to just keep working on projects and putting myself out there until I can make a living with my writing skills by writing strictly creatively.

Looking for an Agent  — 1 year ago

I’m about 150 pages into my first novel. I’ve begun the tedious work of researching agents in the hopes of finding one that I’m interested in working with. I’ve found a few promising ones. It’s been a nice way to compliment working on the book, giving me a taste that I can do this.

I’ve realized that I’m not going to make a penny on the first book since every penny I do make will go right back into publicity for the first book and research for the second, but you know what? That’s ok. This is an investment in my career, not a get rich quick scheme.
