find a good church

I went to the Plymouth Congregational church in downtown Seattle. It was a pretty building, the music was good, the message was good…but the average age of the congregation seemed to be about 80. I’m not joking. We’re talking hearing-assistance, wheelchairs, a SEA of gray hair…I don’t know, I feel like I should give the place another shot, but it’s hard to feel included when you’re the only one who has most of life ahead of you, instead of behind you. It is a very different mentality, I’m sure…

I know I can learn a lot from old people, and they’re good people I’m sure, but church is supposed to be fulfilling to ME as well isn’t it? I mean, how am I supposed to build a community with these people when they’re dropping like flies!?

Oh man, I’m being mean & judgemental. Or am I? Well at I am at least being insensitive.

I’ll try this one once more, and then I’m going to try the one on Capitol Hill with the rainbow flags out front.

I would like to find a liberal church in Seattle. I’m looking for a welcoming, energetic community with an encouraging message every week. If anyone knows of one by chance in Seattle, let me know!

I have been stumbling about. Now, I do not attend any church. I think I would like to attend a good church regularly, but I am not sure what I am willing to contribute to it.

so far i’ve visited five different churches in the last two years. a slow start, but a start nonetheless! i’ll step it up in the new year as one of my resolutions. :)
