stay cool

i am, and always will be… cool.

Somehow we made it through . . . and just skirted past rolling blackouts!

The forecast is for cooler weather tomorrow - 81 degrees (today’s high is supposed to be in the low 90s). Then by Tuesday we’ll be back to normal SF weather for July - mid 70s.

Okay, most of the country would probably laugh at me—it’s only in the eighties, after all. But with the sun and lack of a breeze, it’s in the eighties (~30C) in the house. We don’t have A/C: it’s San Francisco, remember? People don’t get A/C in their homes where the thermometer rises above eighty no more than a few days a week.

I’m a little perplexed as to what to do with our kid—do we bother sticking him in a warm weather sleep sack at all? Is it OK to put him down in just a diaper and cover? Last night we put him down in a diaper and cover but then put him in a lightweight sleep sack later at night.

Today I learned that frozen peas (right out of the bag) make a great hot weather snack, both for one year olds and for grown-ups.

I went out and sprayed the sides and roof of the house with cold water.

Now I can add a new goal to my list.

It’s going to be 90 degrees tomorrow!
