Make a Pilgrimage to Afrika for My 40th Birthday!

It is my goal to plan & carry out a once in a lifetime trip – ultimately to somewhere in Afrika (haven’t decided where exactly yet) for my 40th birthday (19 January 2008).

I’m not certain about maybe stopping somewhere in Europe first – but I know I want to go by way of Couchsurfing.com & meet up with some of the many amazing folks I have met online.

I am in Minnesota & money will be tight so I can’t go everywhere I may like to go. Anyone have any ideas, advise, suggestions, interest?

... & such an honour to be able to make a pilgrimage to Mecca. Okay, okay… no, I am not Muslim, but what an honour if Saudi Arabia would allow me to go. Anyone have any pull with anyone in government there? What a dream!

But, along with that I would love to make a pilgrimage to many other holy places… will add more at an earlier hour (it’s 3am).
