I stopped in the seventh grade. Foolish move. Want to improve skills to accompany my 9 year old daughter, an aspiring singer.

At the very least I’ve started playing my piano each morning to keep up some sort of practice. It’s improved my mood to be playing again, though I do miss playing with a band.
The same part of the brain you use to relearn how to ride a bike is the same as learning to play the piano again. Slow and steady at the beginning, you can catch on again in no time. Of course there will be staccatos and long winding crescendos, but pretty soon PRESTO, you’ll be able to play prestissimo and quite rapidly in no time…or at least that’s what I tell myself :)
I learned to play the piano as a kid. As a teenager I played alot and loved it. I played until I went to college and then after college real life took over. I got married and my husband didn’t really take my wanting to have a piano seriously so I never got one. I’m now in my 40s and would love to play the piano again. I know I can still read music. When I am at the music store with my kid for band instrument things I see that they have group classes for adults (not as expensive as private) and one of these days I’m going to do it.
...maybe i was a bit unfair the first meeting – thinking it was not that fun for me..it was wrong for me to compare it to a photo class..They are just different..And of course, Id always prefer photography.
Anyway, I had fun with my piano lessons earlier today hehe.. Definitely improving and learning a lot. It was really nice.
I’ve also been working on my illustrations daily this week (that doesnt usu. happen) so I think having another kind of outlet for one’s creativity really helps. So after this, Ill dfefinitely take that singing class.
..im just probably expecting too much. Or maybe it’s because of the teacher. But, the good thing is (after wondering why I quit piano in gradeschool) Im now sure its not really something i wanna do regularly – what can i say – Im definitely more into visual arts. I still wanna learn that one piece though..So Practice!! And Im getting interested joining the singing class in the next room..:P
AMRandall following her heart...cuz the mind is just confused
I already know how to read music, play simple songs – and I love doing it – so…..why not get better?
