My new place in upstate New York is literally a half-block from Bikram yoga and I’m stoked. They have an introductory offer I intend to make good use of. Everything in town does good discounts for students, so perhaps they do too. Regardless, there’s absolutely no excuse anymore since I’ll be practically living next door to a Bikram studio. I’m so happy! :-)

I LOVE BIKRAM YOGA, I have been practicing pretty consistently for almost a year now. It makes me feel like superwoman, it makes me feel better in so many ways I just want to jump up and down it makes me feel sooooo good! I just could not afford the $115 dollars last month, so I haven’t been in a little over 3 weeks. I am sort of an all or nothing person when it comes to Bikram, so I always just go for the monthly unlimited passes. Oh well, these things happen, and I know I will get back into it soon. School just got out yesterday so now I will have more time to work=more$ I am super anxious to get back to it, my body just doesn’t feel right!

I haven’t been since December, and with all the exercising I’m doing I am starting to feel a little tight. I know the best remedy for this is Bikram, but I’m having a hard time drumming up the enthusiasm to go. This is in direct proportion to how much DD I consume. I have got to quit that stuff – it’s like liquid crack.

is the place to be in Fort Lauderdale. The teacher, Tony, has been practicing for twenty years and it shows. His physical strength is duly noted and his style of teaching is impeccable. It was the best class I’ve ever had, and I plan on becoming a Saturday morning devotee.

I’m happy to be back. Bikram yoga gives me an incredible physical, emotional, and psychological boost. As much as I want to stay away, I think I’m starting to like it again. I think I’m going to do this a la rehab: 28 classes, and I’ll consider myself back and therefore this goal completed. My reward will be that new Bikram yoga sticker slapped on the back of the Jeep, and hearing more of that ‘Did you lose weight?’ thing.

This is about the only thing you can do in South Florida that’s actually hotter inside than it is outside. It’s $300 for 30 classes, which will last me quite a while if I can go three times a week. Going every day is just too much, but my patience for having tacked on all this weight is wearing thin. I know I take a lot of pride in being a bubba, but in reality I’m pretty cosmopolitan. Bikram yoga suits me.
Monday (before group): 6:15 PM
Wednesday (before class): 4:30 PM
Friday: 4:30 PM or 6:15 PM
The morning classes make me way too dizzy as I can’t get enough H2O in my system before I get there (that I learned the hard way). But I can tell you definitively that Dunkin’ Donuts is not helping me achieve my goal of losing weight! (Imagine that.)

I ran into my Bikram teacher tonight in Whole Foods. She asked where the hell I’ve been. Time to go back!

Gemma is thinking about starting up her 43things again
I just adopted this goal. I haven’t been to Bikram yoga for about 3 years and one of the reasons is that there wasn’t a studio very close to me and so it wasn’t convenient and if exercise isn’t convenient for me I tend to lapse.
Anyway.
There on the right of the page is an ad that says Hot Yoga comes to central Richmond August 2006! I thought it must mean Richmond in the US. But no … it’s little Richmond upon Thames. Less than 1 mile from where I live.
Fate or good advertising – you decide.
