I never ever seem to clear all the crap off my plate and i kept postponing this until then (pointless).
Yesterday (my day off) was a gorgeous day 73ยบ and Sunny.
I finally said—screw it, i’m off to the zoo!!
Wednesdays—in case you didn’t know are free/donation requested. I’m pretty broke these days, so after $12 gas + $8 GWB + $12 Zoo Parking, i was grateful for the free entrance. You are also welcome to bring your own lunch in (it really is a full day outing). In addition to their food huts, there are nice quiet nooks with picnic tables to eat your own nibbles.
They are open 365 days a year (pretty amazing, i wonder who goes on Christmas?)
Tonight i will upload my photos… i got so many great ones, i’ll write a little more and then check this goal as Done! :)

used to go often… wonderful place, the exhibits have always been ‘natural’ and open. Haven’t been in years, but I expect it’s even better and better.

The bronx zoo is great, though some areas clearly outshine others. The Congo Gorilla exhibit is an amazing way to get up close with a ton of gorillas. Also some exhibits are large enough that the animals can hide out in spots where you can’t readily see them. Of course if you’re one of the animals in captivity, this is probably a pro…

..and I just had to go because I was working as an Au Pair and my hostfamily took me. But to be honest, I think putting tigers and lions in cages is a horrible thing to do. They are supposed to be wild and run free in the nature. Zoos are a selfish act of mankind.

it was a HUGE place. i think i took the train and walked.
i especially liked seeing spots there where, years and years ago, my older sisters had their pictures taken (like the plastic caps over the squirrel holes) and the giant spiderweb where i played with a bunch of kids. i was already 24 tho when i went (but most people still think i look 16, esp in america!).
