Learn to roll my "r"s

Been saying Tee Dee Va… not sure how it’s helping atm.. bu I’m going to persevere!!!

Really not sure where my tongue is meant to be when I try to roll my R’s either… I think I need to try not to think about it when I try to do it… if that makes any sense!! xD

On with Tee Dee Va!! .....

Went and saw Zorro today.. and loved how Inez rolled her R’s…

I really wanna do this, so going to start saying “Tee Dee Va” – and see how I get on! :D

I have been practicing on one particular word that I want to get right, and was able to properly roll my r’s.

Woo Hooo!

Now I have to work on consistency. Sometimes they rolled nicely, sometimes my tongue was not working quite right. Then on to more words.. words that begin with R. End with R. Have R’s in the middle. I will conquer them all !!

In my yoga class, we are taught mantras which are said in the Sanskrit language. The key, apparently, to the mantra is not the words as they are said (or else we would be saying them in English or any other language). But it is the sound and vibrations that invoke the power of the mantra.

To properly pronounce some of the words, I will have to roll my r’s. I have been practicing, perhaps getting better.. but certainly not making that purring noise with my tongue that is required to call this goal complete.

I know Spanish pretty well, but I’ve never gotten the hang of the rolled r sound. If I ever do get it, I think it’ll encourage me to practice my Spanish more, which will be helpful, as I go to Mexico a couple times a year to see my sister-in-law.

For now, I just sound lame saying things like “car-o” instead of “carrrrrro.”

how do you do this?

I’ve been trying to do this for years. I swear I don’t think I could do it if somebody held a gun to my head to make me. They’d just have to pull the trigger.
My baby son could do it in his carseat…naturally talented!

Ok so heres what i did 1st I put my tounge to the roof of my mouth right behind my teeth then say words like Raro Carro and Arroz rolling in the second R’s i did it on Arroz for the first time tonight and I tell you I AM EXTREMELY EXCITED OH YES SIR EE so roll away lads and lasses

I can’t roll my r’s to save my life. I could never do it in Spanish class back in high school. I still can’t do it now. This is hampering my progress in Arabic. My brother can do it, why can’t I? He’s telling me to keep practicing it first thing in the morning. Lemme try that. It’d scare the neighbors though… rrrrrrrrrrr…....... rrrrrrrrrrrrr…..
