After seeing something on TV about this place when I was a little kid I always wanted to go and see it,I finally went there probably about 3 years ago… It was seriously cool. The tour guide we had was really good and had alot of interesting info and stories about the house and all the different rooms.
Lissi is not looking forward to today
I visited the Mystery House when I was about 18. I had been begging my uncle to take us since I was 6, ever since the spooky bulletin boards freaked me out whenever we drove up to San Jose. The house is amazing and filled with so much mystery. If you love weird trivia and historical houses, this one is a must. Esecially if you are into superstitions (learning about them).
I went here when I was young…maybe 10ish? It was pretty wierd…creepy…but very detailed as you can imagine! Would love to go back on day and see it (now that I can appreciate such things even more)...

stopped here on the last leg of our honeymoon. I have wanted to go for years so I was pretty worked up and over-excited when we got there. I can’t believe that it was just sitting there, right by the freeway! and with a gift shop! and they had those long, shinny, silly, souvenir cups with Winchester Mystery House printed on them. I was expecting it to be down a long creepy country road, with nothing for miles… But I got over that real fast. I loved every minute of our tour and it was everything that I thought it would be and more. I couldn’t stop taking pictures, and would have loved to get lost and explore that place on my own. We picked up the behind the Secrets of the Mansion DVD and book.
Would love to go back!
It is fun to check out the accomplishments of the rich when they re completely mad.
It was pretty cool, I must say. But stay with your guide or you might walk through a door that leads to a 10 foot drop!

The workmanship that went into this bizarre mansion is noteworthy. Take the big half day tour and add on the tour of the grounds. So sad to see sooo much $$$, in my opinion, wasted. Probably another reason I am not in government.
The stain glass windows were beautifully done. The grounds themselves were so ahead of their times, gas lighting and gardens etc.
