What a guy. Or, 43 things he's done to make me smile.

13. with Derek, scouting stuff to make snowboarding jumps out of when the snow comes (I know, a little weird for June) and came back with wild strawberries for me. What a guy.

12. Hooray! I don’t have to sleep next to my bathrobes anymore. What a guy.

11. I got a “gun show” in exchange for fetching him a soda. What a guy.

8. He does this thing when we’re driving, a particular stern expression and he points at oncoming drivers with his left left while it’s holding the wheel. It cracks me up. This time he decided instead to punctuate something he said with two short beeps of the horn. Once I started laughing he kept doing it, I joined in, it was so much fun. What a guy.

9. Another guaranteed smile move: man shoulder shimmy, scrunched up face. Usually accompanied by a seranade of distorted lyrics. I laugh even when I don’t want to. What a guy.

10. He called a guy we hadn’t seen in almost a year (mutual neglect) who is awesome company. We’ve all three really enjoyed the friendship renewal. What a guy.

43. I said I’d post, for #43, the very next thing he did to make me smile since the last post. It was this:

Him: What are you doing?

Me: Trying to find something I still look good in with this new hair-cut…

Him: Everything!

Me: Aww, you are biased because you love me… but yay! What a man!

He makes me feel fine in… everything. :)

40. D hands me a drink.

Me: Thanks… Wait, I didn’t ask for my drink…

Him: You just looked at your glass, like, four times. Just like the puppy does when she wants your food. :P

Me: Aww. I was lazy. Thanks. :)

41. So every once in a while, I wake up late and walk into the computer room to see him playing City of Heroes, and he’s got my wireless mouse next to his mouse, and is playing both his character and mine. He gets more xp that way, and levels my character up in the process, so that when I actually want to play, we can team up together.

Is this smart? Geeky? Immature? ...Yes? I love this…

42. So, we’re at the airport (recently) and he says, “I’m going to get a magazine” so we walk over the the magazine place, and he picks out something while I’m looking at candy bars. Then I decide, “I think I’ll get a magazine too.”

I look over all the boring celebrity gossip ‘zines, and then I see Popular Science, which is always full of totally awesome and amazing stuff. I pick up one, but then have to put mine away when I see that he’s picked out the same thing.

“Darn! I say, “You beat me to it!

“There’s a Scientific American, too. Go get that, and we’ll switch off.”

So we did! It’s nice to be woth someone who has the same taste in reading material.

For number 43, I will wait for the next awesome thing he does to make me smile… ;)

36. Held my hand the yesterday when I was sad. Gave my hand a squeeze from across the table at dinner. He’s always there for me.

37. Came in with me when I went in to jury duty the first day. Just to sit with me for a few minutes before I had to go be totally bored for three days.

38. Came home today with a cheeseburger for me. Mmm, gestures of food are always winners.

39. So, about that jury duty. Three days of agonizing bordem. I had to wake up at 6am, and I am not a morning person. I mean, I am REALLY not a morning person. I’m a nasty creature-thing in the morning. Not only that, but I was exhausted at the end of each ten-hour day, and I couldn’t take a nap because I wouldn’t get to sleep at night, or wake up in the morning if I did.

This man helped me stay awake in the evenings, AND helped me wake up in the morning, and he dealt with me. (That is much worse than cold toes.)

_{For those of you who do not feel sorry for me, because you wake up at 6am all the time, I’m sorry. I keep my own hours. I’m really a night person, an I’m used to staying up at all hours of the night, and then waking up at around 10am. I did feel sorry for myself, but I admit I am a whiner in this case.}

_{I am doing something nice for the man, but he doesn’t know about it. I’m making him something… in the mean time, limitless backrubs…}

32. So, if someone hurts my feelings, it makes him fuming mad. I don’t like for him to feel bad, but it’s nice to know he cares.

33. He takes the puppy out at night if I need him to.

34. Helped me put the groceries away last night, as usual. :)

35. The following conversation:

Me: You’ve seen every football movie ever made, haven’t you?

Him: Yeah, because they’re all really good.

Me: How can you watch football movies when you don’t even like football?

Him: I watch them for the drama.

28. So after a weekend trip, I notice that my suitcase has already been brought inside the house while I wasn’t looking. And I didn’t even ask for help. It’s just nice that I don’t have to grab that big clunky thing myself. :)

29. He opens doors for me. I am not so old fashioned that I feel that he must open doors for me all the time, but it’s so sweet when he does. Especially how he always goes around to my side and gets the car door for me. A true gentleman. :)

30. And all that makes up for conversations like this:

Me: Ah, the puppy ran away from me!

Him: She probably thinks you’re disgusting.

Me: You’re disgusting.

Him: You’re marrying me.

_{We are each required to fill a daily allotment of horribleness.}

31. He lets me put my cold toes on him.

23. So, I got lasik recently. He walks up to me and kisses me, looks into my eyes, kisses me again… “I love being able to look into your eyes now…”

Mmm, thank you sweety, I love it too! :)

24. I’m sitting outside with friends at a wedding – because a few of us have had all the socializing we can handle. I realize my purse is inside and I need it… argh, but there are so many people inside!

“Ugh… I have to get my purse,” I say.

“Don’t worry about it, sweety. I’ll get your purse.”

What a guy!

25. He brings me m&ms and a pill (for my allergies) when I am all comfy-cozy, wrapped up in a blanket. :)

26. It’s hard for me to explain how it makes me smile that he has such a sweet tooth. He’d love some chocolate and chocolate with a side of chocolate… it’s just so him.

27. We’re huge geeks together. Today we’ve been watching Weird Al videos, and laughing because we get all the geek references. Being geeky together is fun. :)
