Michelle is ensuring this year turns out well.
i’ve had one for a while and it really works (at least once you finally earn all the good exercises). i was also walking/running for a while but now that it’s raining & snowing all the time i don’t really want to be out there.
i think i’ll get back on the wii fit for now and do some yoga/boot camp workouts to keep from getting bored. then come summer i’ll get back outside and try the couch to 5k plan.
i don’t really worry about dieting since i think i already eat pretty well – nothing too fattening and i only eat fish/eggs for protein (no cow, pig or chicken meat because god only knows what they put in them at those farms). i’ve got to get my protein somehow though and i hate most vegetarian options. besides, i could never give up sushi. :)
the other thing that really helped me before was to keep a fitness journal. makes me a little more motivated. instead of using livejournal this time maybe i’ll do blogspot. i can’t give up if other people are rooting for me! :)

Michelle is ensuring this year turns out well.
My weight has fluctuated a lot over the years:
In elementary school I was pretty stick thin for the most part until around 5th grade when I started gaining weight. By the end of middle school I was around 160 (on a 5’3” frame, yikes!) and then lost it all the summer before high school started, so as a freshman I was 114 and 5’4” (yay!). From here it only changed by about ten pounds over the course of 5 years… and then I moved to WA. Within 4 jobless, friendless and unproductive months I was 155 (though now 5’5”).
Of course after a few months of working and going out with people and some moderate exercise I dropped to around 145 and then during the course of 2008 I dropped most of my depression, started walking, became too poor to eat and my boyfriend got me a Wii Fit so right now I’m fluctuating between 135 and 140. According to BMI I’m in the high end of normal, so I’m not worried or anything, this is a mix of vanity and simply wanting to be healthy, which is why I said “ideal” weight rather than, say, wanting to be skinny or something.
I consider my ideal weight to be somewhere between 120 and 125, meaning I want to lose around 15 pounds. I have been ridiculously lazy over the last couple months, what with the stress of multiple vacations, trying to find a job (with a deadline looming), writing a novel, finishing medical coding classes and well, just dealing with life in general. So I’ve not been walking or Wii Fitting ):
I figure once I get the job thing settled then I can go back to exercising regularly because right now I’m just a little too stressed (and yes I know exercise reduces stress but I need to still be at a certain point for that to work and right now I’m way beyond it).

what happens when you don’t complete a challenge goal : well, absolutely nothing. Actually, it took me three days to realise I had forgotten to write an entry about the completion of that goal. It just became a goal like every other.
And, about the goal, well, I’m so happy ! I’ve in fact completed it four weeks ago. Since then I’m eating what I want, without caring, without counting anymore. I can’t bear counting anymore !
So… It took me one year to lose those 10 kg, and I believe it’s a good thing it took so much time. Because my body and my brain needed to get used to this loss. I’m not really feeling fit, I’m just feeling normal, which is very good I guess, since it will help keeping that weight level.
I understand what some people here think about diets, but I really don’t feel like I’ve been on a diet, I feel like I’ve re-learnt to eat, to make the right choices, learnt to have another image of my body.
Of course, I haven’t worked on my relationship with food. But what if there wasn’t anything to work about ? What if I just liked to eat ? What if this 6-week stay in the US when I was 13 had started something that I had never corrected since then ?
Now, we’ll have to see if I’m able to keep that weight without making effort. If I don’t, maybe I will try to think another way.

Oh, by the way

This one is almost done ! I’ve reached the 70-kg-in-the-morning that I wanted, and am now in the “stabilization” part, which is a six weeks period during which I’m supposed to go on taking care about what I eat in order to keep my weight. Well, I don’t take care, at all. And it seems to be OK.
I’ll mark this goal as done at the end of the six weeks, though.
Yep !

Almost there !

I just went to the weekly meeting to realise I had lost 1,7 kg since last week ! I didn’t know since my balance is hidden under books at home, due to works in the kitchen and bathroom.
That leads me to only 400 more grams to lose ! I’m almost sorry I lost this week’s progression on my balance…

Challenge time

has come. Against all expectations, I lost 1 kg during the week I spent at my parents’ for Christmas. Which is a proof that everything is into the head, but this is not the point.
I started to really take care in mid-march, last year. In mid-march, this year, I would like to have lost those 10 kg. Only about 2 kg more, this is perfectly doable, so let’s do it !

Time to update
this one, and maybe I could use the real figures…
I’ve lost 7 kg by now, which leads me to 73,9 kg (this is the weight watcher weigh, that is to say before lunch, with my clothes on. Two kilos more than when I get up in the morning, nude). I would like to reach 70,9, which would mean 10 kg less, and a 22,5 BMI.
Goal : getting as close as I can before Christmas holydays…

Here is what I found so far….

Most people who say something like this as their goal, want to weigh less. I, on the other hand, want to weigh MORE.. That’s right.. I have a hard hard time staying over 100 pounds, sometimes dipping as low as 88-90, which is NOT healthy. Yes, I eat.. and yes I keep it down… just a really really high metabolism. So I shall now research what my ideal weight would be for my age/height and the sort.. and that is my goal…
