Of course it isn’t really mine, but I had worked on the project for several years and therefore it felt like it was mine. It’s an interesting experience a you watch the launch vehicle gain speed and clear the launch pad. It takes a while before the sound hits you and the building shakes (I was on an outside stairway, which really shook). Then you just watch it until all that remains is a trail of exhaust. It’s a special feeling knowing that the spacecraft is leaving Earth and won’t be back.
