Trudging forth. Marketing is definitely the stumper for me. After I got some honest reviews on my initial campaign, I believe I need to tweak my message to make it more simple. As other people have said persistence is key. If getting a business off the ground was easy, I guess everyone would be doing it.

Started... 8 months ago

I decided to start a business on August 23, 2008. I’ve completed many small tasks since then and am at a point where I need to make contact with businesses. This is by far the hardest part for me. I’ve tried traditional forms of outbound marketing, but I think businesses and people in general have gotten more savvy with information filtering. I myself throw away direct mailers I receive and have numerous spam filters on my inboxes. So what I need to work on is helping people find me through their online habits.

Failed a lot, but i’m a strong believer in persistence.

I'm working on this right now with some people... 18 months ago

I’m very excited about it – but it’s definitely hard work! I just have to keep rolling up my sleeves and keep my eye on the prize, so i realize why i’m doing what i’m doing. I can’t lose sight of that. Break the seemingly impossible tasks into smaller more manageable tasks. Put past failures behind me and learn from the mistakes.

Opening a SkateShop with my son, Jacob 20 months ago

My son, Jacob, is an amazing, natural athelete who loves Skateboarding and Rollerblading. Our town recently opened a skate park and we are in the early stages of opening a skate shop about 2 blocks away.

Keep it trim. 2 years ago

This is just like excercise… it is MUCH easier to keep trim from the beginning than it is to shave fat later. I suggest outsourcing nearly everything and focus your time on what is absolutely needed. Do not hire people, only take on partners and investors, and outsource everything. Enjoy!
