MYMYMY500I have sort of done this...

Check out my list!

I cheered for 3 seasons of basketball at Batavia High School and cheered for basketball at GCC and football at Buffalo State.

I was the captain of my high school team and the captain my college team at GCC.

I received the MVP award my senior year of high school and received the Coach’s Award at GCC.

Back in the day, a basket toss was only done at the huge universities. Now it’s done by little kids! I have done a few pretty high basket tosses myself, but we were not allowed to basket toss on the gym floor or on the track without mats, so there were few opportunities. I now teach cheerleaders how to do them, but I insist on a progression of skills before they basket toss. It can be dangerous, if not done properly.

I was a Ben-Gal for 3 seasons at Buffalo State.

I have coached at 2 high schools – York Central High School in NY and Souderton Area High School in PA.

At Souderton High School, we placed just 4th at Suburban One, but there was a penalty that reduced our overall score (a coaching risk I had to take). Without the penalty, we would have taken 1st place. Everyone at that competition thought we did the best and thought we had won 1st place. In this case, I sort of think it’s better to have been 4th, but deserved 1st than to win 1st and deserved 2nd! I still want to bring home a 1st place trophy for a routine I choreographed.

Souderton High School won a 1st place trophy with 8 teams in our division. The routine was choreographed by myself and others.

Other than for my own teams, I also judged Spencerport High School in NY. I have actually judged try-outs 9 times.

I volunteered as a cheer coach for 3 community cheerleading teams in PA – Conshohockon Bears, Warrington-Warwick Warriors, and Willow Grove Golden Bears. I also worked/volunteered as a cheer coach for the Harris YMCA Cheercats in Charlotte, NC for 2 years – a total of 5 years or 7 seasons.

I finally got my AACCA certification in 2005 thanks to Regina at Carolina Thunder All-Stars.

I coached for Carolina Thunder All-Stars in Charlotte, NC, but had to resign prior to the competition season. I would like to coach during the competition season.

I’ve done a back handspring, but with a spot. I’d like to learn to do one without a spot.

I want to judge a cheer competition, write a cheerleading resume, coach a kid’s dance team for a local baseball game, and learn a professional dance routine. 4 years ago
