13: Cleaned out my car’s trunk! (it was jammed packed full of all kinds of nonsense)

14: Amazon boxes! I have a whole pile of them and will be recycling these when i send gifts to my friends for the holidays. The rest are going to the recycling center.

15: OLD SHOES: Let go of shoes that are old/didn’t quite fit. They’re going to Salvation Army.

16: Clothes: I have filled up two large bags of clothes from my closet, which I’m dropping off at Salvation Army, too.

17: I had an extra comforter set that matches my dad’s house really nicely and he needed some extra flair so i brought that for him.

OK this is a really good exercise and I haven’t read the book yet, but to be clear I’m going to try and recycle things whenever possible i/o throwing into a landfill. I’ve been doing this already for a week so I’ve been doing a lot of

1: Drawer of lost jewelery – Sorted old/no longer love it/Tangled/broken jewelry from stuff i want to keep. Threw out broken odd pieces and put everything else in clear ziplock bags and sorted into “keep” and “sell” piles. I’m going to price these and sell them at a garage sale, and the rest is going to good will.

2: Scratched teflon pots and pans and cookie sheets in the kitchen. Will take this to a solid waste center to be recycled (not ok to throw in landfills).

3: Tool drawer – went through and tossed all the orphan nails, tacks, etc. that were in the drawer into the trash. Probably need to still go through and identify/tag any duplicates I could sell at the GS.

4: All of my puppets/dancing animitronic toys (a whole box full!) GS

5: All of the expired vitamins and cold medicines in the kitchen/closets/bathroom (it was a LOT). Trash

6: Books I no longer really love GS/Donate them to a used book store that gives you credit for books donated towards new ones

7: All of the electronics/cords/cameras/chargers that I no longer use – is now in a box ready to be recycled next to an old CPU and scanner. I am going to take all of these to the solid waste recycling center.

8: Miscellaneous bags/baskets full of mail, papers, odds and ends around the house I’m counting as 1

9: All of the old makeup in my bathroom.

10: Useless gifts – bowls, trinkets, vases, other stuff that I have kept around to be polite. GS/trash

11: Decor that doesn’t work for me anymore – lots of candle holders, some plates, hurricane lamp, etc.

12: My ex-husband. He has been coming to family events for years after our divorce and this week I wrote him a letter saying thank you goodbye good luck it’s time for us to move on and go our seperate ways. My family is sad about it but I feel lighter – I kept him around for them, but it wasn’t good for me. So that’s that! :)

38: All those “science experiments” living in my fridge. It’s clean now.

37: Some piles of miscellaneous junk I’ve been meaning to get rid of for some time. I’m going to count them as one thing.

While changing my closet from summer to winter wardrobe, I took the opportunity to chuck some well-used (and well-loved) shoes. I will need to replace them, but they were getting a bit ratty, so it was time to go.

36: An empty laserjet ink cartridge. Handed it off to Staples for recycling.

32: A whole bunch of junk in the bathroom (each thing so old and useless it may as well count as one)
33: Several books
34: A thin and flimsy backpack
35: A slightly battered leather pouch with broken zippers that isn’t likely to be mended. Over 11 years old. Its twin that I saved as a backup is in perfect shape, so I can’t justify keeping this. Goodbye, old friend.

31: Picture frames that I can’t hang on the wall. I have no room in my life for frames that can only be placed on a table.
