some ideas are not flowers

i think ideas deserve light but some ideas are just bad ideas. like invading iraq. it is good to tell everybody, “my idea is to invade iraq.” but when 80% of the people who hear that idea say, “that is a stupid idea and will result in disaster and here is why…” and 20% of people (mostly your best friends) say, “what a great idea!” and you only listen to the best friends, perhaps not so good. perhaps it is time to take the idea back to the proverbial drawing board and figure out how to achieve your goal without calling up the 4 horsemen or any of their little cousins.
my bad ideas probably are not going to have quite the impact of gulf war 2, but still i need to listen well.
