I met a woman who lives in the area we are going to get together for coffee. She seems very nice. August 28th, 2008.
We chatted for a little while, her name is Ginny.
I met an artist today, we talked, and will talk again Sept 5th.

My advice to finding the right guy is to look within your heart see exaclty what you both have in common that tells you hey maybe they are into the same stuff that i like you should get to know them first before you start to date them because they could be totally different before you know it and when you do that the right guy will find you

Cheryl so glad that God is watching over me
Although I think this is a great goal,
I feel it is not the appropriate focus right now.
I am too uninterested in chumming it up with people,
I know all too well that there is no point…not even for amusement.
God honestly fills my void of loneliness,
with this I am overflowing with knowing my purpose and friends are just not as important as they were in 3rd grade…

Cheryl so glad that God is watching over me
I’m waiting for God to bring someone into my life I can be friends with.
until then I wait, and God is my company, plus the people surrounding me. which, is more than enough..
my problem is i’m looking for someone like me…and there is no one.
I say this is good news.

So after finding a ton of old friends/acquaintances on facebook and adding them as contacts, I’ve taken the next step and organized some coffee dates. Next week I have so far confirmed 5 people, in the process of confirming 4 more and there’s still about a dozen who haven’t gotten back to me yet. This is a big step for me, I think, and am quite excited to get to know more people and make friends with similar intrests so that I can be myself and not be fake so that people will like me. There are lots of people in the world, I don’t need to conform to a select few just to have friends :D

So far so good. I joined a website called ‘facebook’ and joined a bunch of discussion groups that interested me. I got into a philosophy and physics one and found some really cool people with really good ideas!! We started emailing each other and became friends. I am quite happy with this. Also through facebook I found lots of people I used to know live in Ottawa as well and when I get back to Ottawa at the end of the month I’m going to arrange a series of coffees and teas with them to catch up and see if there are still any common interests there to build up a friendship on. Most people change during highschool and choose different paths, so it’ll be interesting to see if any of them have chosen the same ones as I have :D

This is something I really should move to the top of my list.
I’ve noticed that since the wedding, I’ve sort of stopped trying to make new friends, and, of course, since that coincided with graduation, many of my friends have moved away.
I really don’t want to be one of those girls who doesn’t have a personal life outside of her husband, but…I don’t know how to get started. :( I’m too nervous when around new people to really strike up a conversation, and when it does happen, well, how do you make the leap from conversation buddy to friend?

ixyk hasn't beeen on this site in ages!
I’m living in a new city now and I need to get out and make some friends who I can hang out and have fun with.
I think the key is to just get out there…I haven’t been doing enough of that lately.
