Learn from those that know: is a move from Minnesota to North Carolina a good decision?

Me and my husband are comtemplating a move from MN to NC in 2009. A couple years ago, we visited NC on a long vacation and both loved it. Although MN is a great state, we would love to live a little closer to the east coast, the mountains, and the cities along the eastern seaboard.

We are seriously considering a move to Raleigh-Durham.

If anyone has done this, or has insight from either the MN or NC perspectives, I would appreciate input!
