    Done... 15 months ago

... but I think I can do better.

Maybe with an extra vegetable plot now in place I will be able to rotate my crops earlier, as I found there wasn’t enough space to stagger my planting.

And I need to figure out a way of stopping the birds from devouring the tasty leaves that set back a lot of the vegetables…

Definitely worth it, but I need to put a bit more thought into the planning next year…

Memories are made of these 16 months ago

My 11 year old & 15 year old sons had fun helping me plant out our garden:
    Peas
    Carrots
    Tomatoes
    Zucchini
    Potatoes
    Silver beet
    Rhubarb
    Lettuce
    Chinese lettuce (Pak Choi?)

I’m looking forward to extending it over the coming months.

Last day of winter 16 months ago

I have one day to get my seedlings in, but the garden will be in productive in spring & summer.

Great day in the garden today.. 17 months ago

... moved the compost that was very much ready. Cleaned out and weeded the vegetable beds – mowed in between the rows, and generally tidied it all up.

Mostly everything is doing o.k. Unfortunately the birds are enjoying some of the vegetable leaves too ;)

Well on the way... 19 months ago

... today I planted a LOT of seedlings and seeds…

Seedlings of celery, broccoli, silverbeet(chard)and wong bok cabbage.

Also planted seeds of beetroot, 2 different peas, broad beans, spinach, broccoli and pak choy…

I should be able to stagger some of the seed plantings to give me a continuous supply of veggies!

Time to start turning over the soil... 19 months ago

... and planting out seeds and seedlings.

We had the biggest mega frost two nights ago, and I have now lost the last of my summer/autumn crop. I really should be grateful that they lasted so long….

So I will pick my green tomatoes and clean up the vegetable garden ready for winter.

We have cleared away two beds and I think today I will be able to plant celery, cabbage, broccoli, silverbeet and beetroot. I have managed to maintain an inbetween crop of lettuce, silverbeet, potatoes , beetroot and leeks that will see us through until this next crop is ready. So, hi-ho, hi-ho…..!!!!
