Swain had awesome conditions on Sunday, with it having snowed a few inches the night before: Mid-30’s, sunny, and everyone in good spirits. I skied in a long-sleeved t-shirt down several black diamond runs for the first time. A lesson really does do wonders, and I seem to get better every year. My mountain bike legs must be helping. What a great day…

I took a Level 4 lesson and we started off easily, but I managed to make a lot of progress on my technique and we ended with a lot of blues and blacks.
My fear of pitch is gone, but replaced with the knowledge that I have to work on a whole new set of muscles (including my core) to keep making progress.

I went up to Whistler yesterday and the conditions were much harder than what I’m used to on the East coast. The snow was very thick and much harder than back home. Also, I’m not a huge fan of pitch – and the Green and Blues here are almost like the Blues and Blacks at Tremblant. I really was out of my element, but I did it.
I think maybe a few runs into next season after I get a few more lessons under my belt and get into practice again, I should be good to go.
