I have gained quite a bit of weight over the past few months and am not really happy where I’m at. I was trying to take a nap today when I started thinking about how unhealthy I am. With Spring coming, I would like to start going on walks a few times a week. I thought abut trying to join the Y again, but I think that this is more of a manageable goal. I can get my iPod and headphones, my tennis shoes and take a walk around my neighborhood. I’ve got plenty of friends who would be willing to go on walks with me too. I just need to get out there and start doing it. The first time will be a little challenging to actually get myself out the door, but I know I can do it.

I plan on buying a pedometerhere really soon so that will give me the motivation to walk more.
Classes start up really soon too so I’ll be walking to and from classes and my car. But whenever I get done with classes, depending on the time, I’ll come home and walk around my neighborhood with my ipod and cell phone.
STFU1337 is getting ready to be AWESOME!
walk a few miles into town.
here i go…
blahh
I kinda fell off track on this one. No additional walking over the last week :( I’m going to start back up though…tonight too. In addition to walking though I’ve got to start stretching….my musk-cle recovery has been horrible and I think streching will help improve it immensely. I need to get some new tennis shoes too though…all of mine grew incredibly uncomfortable over my last pregnanct and I guess the change was permanent ‘cause they’re still not as comfy :( And good footware is important.
Well I’ve started walking some. I’d like to get up to everyday, but so far it’s been every other day or every third day. A good start, but I want to do better.
Currently my legs are sore….that’s got to be a good sign ….right??
On the treadmill I would tell myself, “Just 5 min.” I would always go for at least 5-10 more in the beginning, building up to 30 min.
Around the lake…the great thing is you can’t stop halfway…gotta finish to get back to the car! :)
i started to get up an hour earlier and have a walk on the beach. and i get off the bus 2 stops earlier to have some more walk. its really cool that i feel better day by day.
emmacloses is relaxing!
I’d say I’ve got this one down. I walk several times a week for 40 minutes at a time, and I’ve been keeping it up for over a month now.
It’s definitely making me feel a lot better!

a walk today and a walk yesterday (40 minutes each). Trying to make up for slacking over the weekend =/
hollymoose78 has to push ahead and get done with some of these goals already!!!
I took a (short) walk on my lunch break—even though I didn’t feel like it. I used the opportunity to go to the credit union to deposit a small check. It got me out and walking—and though it was a very short walk- I count this as a victory because I set out to walk today and ‘forced’ myself to do so. It felt good to do it, too, and gave me a little burst of energy. Now I plan to walk again by the end of the week—possibly to the new Quilter’s shop or to the gas station (or both!) that are down the street.
