A couple of years back my grandmother passed away. She meant the world to me, was the glue that kept our diverse family together, and we will all miss her forevermore. Every summer I pick some daisies from our drive and put them in her grave’s vase. She loved them so…
My family never had much and the trailer we were living in became unbearable so we moved in with my grandfather after she passed. Not only because we had to but also for the fact that he needed the help and the company.
Currently I am staying in her old bedroom. I helped clean out her stuff little by little. And boy… that was the hardest thing I have ever done. The problem now is that this room isn’t mine. My grandmother lives on in our hearts but it’s about time I redo this room to reflect myself. I need a space to call my own. And I’m sure she’d say the same.

Now I’m taking a deep breath and getting this done.

I need to make my room reflect me. I think ill do it bright orange with lime green designs on the walls. And white shag carpet. Oh yeah! i need one of those bubble chairs that hang from the ceiling too. I think im gonna have Joe do it for me though since i cant paint to save my life.

My new bedding should be here in a few weeks once they get it sent out…
I’ve cleaned out everything that I don’t want…
I can finally breathe. :)

got a new bed… now to get nightstands… eclectic, non matchy matchy….

Over spring break I ripped out all the old carpeting, laid hardwood floors, and painted the walls. My dad did the trim and ceiling, and will be doing the closet doors sometime before I move back home. Although all my furniture isn’t there and my pictures aren’t up, those are just little touches to finish. For the most part, it is DONE and the room is beautiful!

I finished last night! I printed pictures and put them in the frames that were hanging on the walls. The finished effect is even better than I thought it would be. Last weekend I also bought a plastic cover for my desk so I can put pictures underneath that. I still have a few small things to do, but for the most part I am DONE!!!

The bed and mattress arrived a couple of weeks ago, which makes a big difference. Last night I started hanging things on the wall…hope to finish that this weekend.

I really want to finish this before I move back to Cincinnati in a month, so it will be ready to enjoy in the summer. I’ve painted the walls and ceiling, bought a new comforter, and ordered the bed and mattress but it’s still got a long way before its done.
