Saw them at the University of Notre Dame in their first American concert following 9/11. The context added emotional depth to an already emotive band. Well worth it!!
I went with my wonderful co-worker friend at the time, Helen G. and it was OUT OF THIS WORLD. Not only was the lighting awesome with these beaded curtain type things, but really, they played all their hits, and Bono’s One Campaign to end all poverty (interactive texting during the show) was awe inspiring.
Although it is too long ago. It was the love comes to town tour. I want to do it again.

The concert was wonderful from start to end, if one forgives for the atrocities booked to open, a band who call themselves “The Music” (?), and Snow Patrol, yuech.
U2 played a gig with verve and penache, old songs, new songs, a very good mix. A great performance by Bono, whose voice I expected to be strained, but sounded really good.
Unfortunately, the same night, in the early hours of the morning, my aunt passed away. So that has more or less overpowered the impressions I assembled the night before, and so I am not going on about the concert.
If you like U2, I can only recommend seeing them better sooner than later.
Life on earth is finite.

My 2 extra tickets for U2 on 16-07-05 in Amsterdam. This will be my first ebay sale as well, and so far nobody has made a bid… :o(
...and I’ve seen a lot of other bands (and the Foo Fighters were by far the best—a couple years back when they came “home” to the Patriot Center). Hopefully there’ll be around my area…
