    Typing 21 months ago

Sometimes it doesn’t seem that I have many talents to offer. But yesterday in conversation with an acquaintance it came to light that she does not type and had to prepare a 15 page assignment for a course she is taking. This was a daunting task for her so I offered to come and take dictation and type it for her. She was so pleased and it made me feel even better to do it for her.

    Surprised myself 2 years ago

So i’m driving on my way home from work sitting at a red light when I look over and see this old old man on the sidewalk picking something off the ground (maybe a coin). He sees me looking and starts waving and saying something, so I roll the window down and he walks over and asks if I can drive him to the store for a loaf of bread. My head tells me no, but he looks so pitiful and he had a very hard time even walking over to my car, so I told him to get in. He looks homeless and he clothes are stained badly. Right away I smell this dirty, rauncy odor comming from him. Its only a few blocks from the store and so its no big deal, but he wants me to wait for him. I waited and drove him back home and Ed (he introduced himself) thanks me profusly and shakes my hand. He says he will return the favor one day, but I told him he did me a favor by letting me help him today. I dropped him off in front of his house and he says I’m a lifesaver because he needed bread with his dinner. If you are reading this, say a prayer for Ed, I think he can use a few.

To my neice 2 years ago

I bought a new plasma television and I didn’t really need the old tv. I could have put it in another room, but I took it over to my neice’s house and gave it to her. Her and her husband aren’t working and I knew if they didn’t need the TV they could always sell it.

    Another One! 2 years ago

My neighbor likes the idea I had to put up a flag, outside our condos. He copied me last year and installed a flag also. The one anoying thing about outside flags, is the wind wraps them up pretty well. My neighbor is retired and has more time than I do, so he keeps his flag looking pretty good. This week he isn’t home and so I got my ladder out and unwrapped his flag. Its a little thing, but when he comes home, its one less thing he has to do.

Did one this week 2 years ago

My next door neighbors light burned out. Its an automatic light thats always supposed to be on, and it hasn’t been. So I changed the lightbulb. She will probably never know that I did it, I have no intention of even mentioning it to her. It feels good to help someone, even if its a very small thing like that. Picture a world where everyone did that everyday for someone.

Helped clean my grandfather's house 3 years ago

Today I went to clean Grampa’s house with my cousins and aunt. He had a bit of misfortune this week while cleaning his stove out with the shop vac. He didn’t realize there was a hole in the bag until he finished the job!

Dog sitting for the boss 3 years ago

This week the owners of the company I work for were away and I was asked to care for their small dog while they were away. I didn’t exactly volunteer for this, but it came my way and I did it!
