Weather it’s as a civilian or a soldier. I believe in what we’re doing over there and I would love for the opportunity to spend some time there absorbing the accomplishments of our hard working troops and the citizens of IRAQ.
Our troops are the best. I salute them and hope to join them in their fight for the American dream.

religion has really f’d up a lot of people there. I met a group of cristians who i escorted for a contract job. Never met a more villinous and hateful group. I remember when one gave me a cd of a civilian getting his head sawed off. There was a lot of homosexuality that went on too. Nothing like a bunch of sexually repressed, politically oppressed and generally beat down people to make you hate the ideas that they stand for.

I have been in Iraq since 2005. Its both the toughest and most rewarding jobs I have ever had ~ but sometimes I really just want to go home…

To be part of an operation overseas instead of supporting it, from American soil…behind a desk, watching people die real-time in infra-red video and not being able to do a damn thing but write a report on it. To help the people of Iraq, and to fight along side those who are already there.
I’d go from intelligence to infantry just to be able to be satisfied with what i do. From Air Force to Army or Marines. From behind a desk, to under fire.
I’ve already looked into it. “Blue to green” or use my 3 year re-training window into OSI anti-terrorism/TAC HUMINT. Wish me luck.

It’s currently a bit of a sh*thole, for sure, but it’s good to visit one of the highest profile places in the world right now. Of course, I’m currently visiting as part of an all-inclusive package holiday but if it ever stabilises I can imagine coming back here as a tourist.

Serving here has been an amazing and eye-opening experience. Not that I’ll volunteer to come back here for another tour (not that I volunteered to come here the first time, either), but I really think I’ll be a better person for having been here for a year.

To see what is really going on there. To help the innocent Muslims in any way i can. To experience life that is not full of luxury. To see the world differently. To appericiate all that i have and grow closer to my Lord.
