druidea wants to go home

Untitled 6 days ago

i’ve done odd jobs. i’ve gone through night school while working through the day. i’ve landed my the jobs following the path of my chosen career. after a while doing it, i’m starting to go back to the dreams i had as a child. i’m relating to the things i do now.

i want to write. i want to create. i want to invent.

i want a job that would give me more time to spend with my kids.

and i want a job that pays me as much [or more] than i bring home.

but all the above would cost a lot of time, planning, trials and errors that i may not afford much to do with at the moment. i have it though, at the top of my life’s list!

a change would be good as change is constant. it’s just the hassle of making the beginning of begin.

I think I would like to write children’s books, but worry about being able to support myself. Right now, I have a stable career and income, but it is very stressful and doesn’t allow for creative expression.

Hmmm... 5 months ago

Out of the blue, my boss told me that he’d work on getting me a raise. He also told me to let him know if I have any complaints. Weird! Did I think out loud at work one day? Haha! I think I’ll try to change my current job to satisfy me better. So far, I asked if I could take home some work. Maybe that can eventually switch to less hours spent at the office. We’ll see…

I feel as though I’m performing so far below my potential. Ugh. I’m bored, frustrated, unmotivated. I’m lucky in that I love my co-workers. They’re like family to me. But, being bored for 40 hours a week is sucking life right out of me.

I wonder if I should go back to school, do an online course, or try to be my own boss. Decisions, decisions.

so im enjoying the book by Po Bronson, lots of things to give me ideas and hope.

i have cancelled my subscription to my professional body today, at £330 a year or there abouts, its just too expensive and all being well, i will be leaving the profession this year anyways

i have also just started to try and write my first travel article, just ideas at the moment, but hopefully transforming into a bonefide article over the next week.

Can a Save Easy cashier be considered a career? Maybe.

Can I do this forever? Hell no.

I’d like to change careers…I’ve applied to several different jobs…been told I’m underqualified…I’ve been in the same career for 14 years! I feel stagnant. Things are boring! Same old people. Same old things to do everyday. Boring.

I want to re-enter the workforce in a slightly different field. But I’ve been out for 7 years, so just getting a job again seems tough, let alone switching specialities.

I got close.. 15 months ago

I had my first job interview in 18 years a couple of weeks ago. Was a little scary but I got through it. Didn’t get the job but thats OK…whats meant to be is meant to be. The thought of change is hard when you’ve worked for the same company for so long but its also exciting.
