badmilk has inexplicably strong fingernails, and weak everything else
from my boyfriend who it turns out couldn’t even make it to the show due to his being called out of town for work. So I had to go with a friend.
It was an excellent show and it was great to see the idols from my teen years. The seats were good and there were lots of laughs… I just wish Bill could have been there. The guys didn’t seem to have let themselves go as much as I had feared. Dave Foley seemed to have lost that lame Poker show weight for the tour. Kevin McDonald is still my favourite. Bruce McCulloch is still Brce McCulloch. Scott Thompson is still dirty and, well, fabulous. And Mark McKinney is still that other dude.
It was in a surprisingly non-major venue in Glenside, PA, just outside of Philadelphia. I dunno, maybe the Keswick Theater is bigger than I appreciated, but the place doesn’t even have a parking lot, and its about a 30 second walk from suburbia, no exaggeration.
I’m being lame, I know, but it was such a thoughtful gift from Bill, and it really was supposed to be a special night for he and I.
Oh, and it’s still true. Canadian sketch comedy is far superior to American. Sorry yanks.
