Spider-Man 3 2 years ago

And so it begins. The summer kicks off with Tobey Maguire putting on the spidey suit for the third time. Whomever coined the phrase “the third time’s the charm” did not have this movie in mind. I’ve never been a big comic book guy, but the first Spider-Man looked cool and was. Spider-Man 2, thanks primarily to Michael Chabon’s help with the script, was absolutely brilliant. Unfortunately, Chabon is not back and the script suffers horribly. Is Spider-Man 3 enjoyable? Yes, in a Jerry Bruckheimer loud-noises-and-shiny-things way. The effects are spectacular, but something is missing. Even the main characters come off a little bland although Peter’s brief transformation into Emo Parker is interesting and kind of fun. I enjoyed Spider-Man 3, but it is by far my least favorite of the three.
