sky dive at least once!!!

Okay so maybe more than once…

The thrill seeker in me wants to DIVE!!!!

A sky dive is so worth doing!

I did mine from 14,000 feet in Cairns and the view of the rivers, lakes, tablelands, reef, sand cays, rainforest, ocean, etc while hurtling down was incredible.

Jump from as high as the company will allow. This will give you more time to enjoy it. (Every 2,000 feet adds about another 20 seconds if i recall correctly.) This is especially important as your brain has sensory overload initially (it cannot compute what is going on and doesn’t take it all in) and you may not be able to remember doing, say, 3 tumbleturns as you begin your fall.

Simply unbelievable. Plan where you would like to do your sky dive and then plan how and when you will get there. It is a moment you will never forget.

I’ve done 28 jumps now and am totally addicted.
If you want to do it, this is something you have to do. It’s not foolhardy, not really, skydivers are in fact very safety conscious people.
I was completely terrified before my first jump, I spent half of the trip up to height wondering how I could talk my way out of it, but once I left the plane I absolutely loved it and have loved it ever since :-)
If you’re on the west side of Australia I can recommend a very good place to go jumping with an impeccable safety record and the best people…

I went sky diving, tandem-fashion, summer of 2002. We (me and the instructor, who was strapped to me, behind me) jumped at 10,000 feet, free-fell until 5,000 feet, then he pulled the parachute (ouch! very hard jerk), and we glided to the ground. Landing was very easy – pretty much just stand up after flaring the parachute near the ground.

I did eight jumps in two days and finished up about an inch shorter (temporarily!). Very scary at first – the ground rush on landing is the worst bit.

however foolhardy this may seem….i just want to do this once…hopefullly i wont wet myself on the way down!! hehehe
