Crap. The weather is preventing us from leaving tomorrow. But We’re almost packed and I pre-cooked a lot of food today so I won’t have to cook as much as reheat for meals.

As always, I am anxious, especially about the cold. Yes, I love skiing in 30 degree weather. But 0? Big difference. My goal is not to whine too much. :)

We’re off!

Basically, since the Canadian exchange rate changed so much, we’ve gone bare bones. I’ve booked our lift tickets already. I thought we’d save some money because at the time, the US dollar was plummeting. Not so so I didn’t really save money for booking early as I thought. But it’s paid for and we don’t have to worry about it.

Next, we’re just going to lay low. Bring our groceries for the week and ski. Nothing wrong with PB&J. We’ll also rent some movies and read by the fire.

Also, I’ve mapquested the trip and hubby has added Canada to our Garmin. We’ll pack this weekend and hope for the best at the border.

We’re also expecting a huge snow storm on Sunday (when we’re supposed to be driving there. So I’ll just have to keep my fingers crossed.

I mentioned this already but thought I needed to post it here. Hubby earned a trip to South Beach, FL in February!!! One extra week in Florida is always good. I do not have the vacation time, so I won’t get paid but my boss approved it. How could she not??

I can’t believe it’s 3 weeks away. I’ve been procrastinating because, well, we’re flat broke. I’m still trying to figure out how I’m going to buy holiday gifts. I don’t know how this happened. I think it’s a combination of increased gas prices (we each drive/commute about 60 miles round trip each day) plus the cost of the new patio door. But I’m actually dreading the vacation now. Basically, we’re going to have to bring all of our food and not go out to eat at all. But at least we’ll be skiing. And that will be fun.

So I guess I just have to find all the free things to do. We’ve already bought the lift tickets. Now, I think I’ll rent a few movies and look into good groceries to pack for the week.

8 days 7 nights in Disney World. It’s going to be a lot I know but it will be so worth it!

Before the exchange rate with Canada gets any worse.

$200 plus tax = $232 Canadian or $265 American. Ugh. x 2 = more than $500! Yowza.

When we originally planned this trip, we decided on CA because we thought it would be cheaper with the exchange rate. This is killing me. My bargain seeking has failed this time around.
