watch the Monte Carlo Grand Prix

I’ve liked Grand Prix motor car racing for quite a long time although I rarely get to watch it on TV any more. I’ve never been to a live race and have little wish to – the TV pictures access all areas after all. However, there are a couple of racetracks I’d love to go to (including now defunct races like the brief Detriot GP). The existing track I want to see raced is the wonderful Monte Carlo circuit.
Ideally, I’d be in one of the hotels overlooking the street where all the cars have to go slow or be on the exit to the tunnel by the harbour.
I’d never been to the south of France until last November when I was in Cannes and it was strange being such a short distance from somewhere I’ve dreamed of going since as long as I can remember.
