Saving 1k per month. Since I don’t pay bills, it should be easy.
How I did it: I opened a separate bank account and made it my first priority to save just a couple of rands a month!
I decided to divide my total monies over every month and put that portion towards my savings account. I pay my savings account first thing every month not wait till month end then try scrape cash together.
Lessons & tips: Make it your priority!

Istophur Has accomplished many goals thanks to this site enforcing me to write
I started last week, wasn’t much but it is the first savings account I have had in years soooo, off the list. I will readd this goal if I don’t follow through with it in the long run.

Ok, 2nd check since savings opened, added a lil more, wrote out budget FINALLY that includes savings. Hoping to get stronger in this part of my life… till next time
I’ve started saving $200 a month and plan to up the amount to $450 soon. With this amount, after a year I’ll have enough money for 3 month’s worth of living expenses.
Then, I can start investing.. I’m anxious to get started already! I guess a year will go by quickly…
Now that I don’t have credit card debt, I want to save a 3-month emergency fund- money that I can use if my car breaks down, I have a big dentist bill, etc, so I don’t need to use a credit card for these expenses. I need to save a sizable amount per month in order to reach my goal one year from now.
Everything’s about money.. pay here pay there.. when did i became so independent… am i partying too much? i wish i could get some sense of the saving thing and start listening to my brother… maybe thats the only way of going rich…. and stay healthy!!
I feel like I’m always broke and living paycheck to paycheck. I don’t want to end up like my parents. They have been busting their asses for years!
I have been into the bank and am setting up an appointment to sit down with a financial advisor to grip this.
