go on a skiing holiday

.... just to prove to some people that I actually went ski-ing, and didn’t just walk around. I certainly wasn’t going up on the chair lift to carry my skis back down ;-)

This poor snowboarder on the left of me always had to get on to that side of the chair lift. He wasn’t confident enough of getting off up the top and bowling me over if he got onto my side. I hadn’t fallen over at all at this stage, and didn’t want to start:O)

... I don’t know if I will get back to N.Z. to ski again, but I would love to think that I can go on a skiing holiday again…

The snow was magnificent, the people very hospitable and I thoroughly enjoyed myself!!

... and this little snow bunny is getting just a teensy bit tired, but having the most awesome time….

The ski-ing has been fantastic and I’m having the most wonderful holiday!!

... unfortunately there has been quite a warm spell here, putting a bit of a damper on the skiing. There was some snow last night, and apparently tonight more is expected. I’m hoping to get out by mid week….

Meanwhile we have had some lovely tours – seen some amazing fiords (Doubtful sound and Milford Sound), and been on a Lord of the Rings tour.

So far, a wonderful holiday ~

... yesterday was a fairly relaxing day with a trip on the Skyline gondola which overlooks Queenstown. Beautiful photo opportunities….

Today we took a trip to Arrowtown – lovely walk along the river, visited the Chinese settlement, walked around town and had a lovely lunch.

The next few days are booked with tours. Having an amazing time!!

... we travelled up to Sydney without a hitch, only to have a delay from Sydney to Christchurch..

So yesterday morning saw us sitting at the airport trying to pass time. Of course we also had a connecting flight from Christchurch to Queenstown, didn’t we?? That was arranged like clockwork, wasn’t it??? Didn’t allow for any holdups – aarrghhh!!!!

So, we are watching movies, reading mags, relaxing on the plane, and just before descending one of the hosties comes up to us and asks if we could come into business class as we need to be rushed off the plane onto the connecting flight…..

Fine – wished we had been able to enjoy business class for a bit longer though :-D

So, we literally jump off the plane, rush with an escort to collect our bags, then sprint onto the next plane. Hardly a relaxing start to this special holiday..

Anyway, we are here. It is beautiful. Looking at snow capped mountains from our window. Couldn’t ask for a better start to my birthday…

Really looking forward to a lovely break, and a huge bonus, is being able to catch up with my girls on the way there and back – yay!!

I’ll miss you all, so please don’t forget about me. Will try and get on here as much as possible….

When winter come around again I guess

... I don’t want to wish my life away, but I can’t WAIT!!

... that maybe for my birthday this year, we could go skiing.

Haven’t made any definite plans, but I was hoping that New Zealand may be a good option!!

I really am getting excited about this, as I haven’t been skiing since we left the mainland. A wonderful thing to look forward to…
