Without my knowledge, I’ve been quoted by a countless number of people at school, on myspace, and even Twitter.
How to be quoted
How I did it: I honestly have no idea. All I had to do was be myself and speak my mind. There is no holding back on what I think or do [unless if inappropriate, of course] and I'm never going to change that.
Resources: Psychological books and films. Lots of them.

I tend to cover any surface I am able to with the quotations of others when it tickles my fancy, I am inspired every day by the wise words of others that I have memorized to the letter, and I often use a quotation or two when helping someone else through a problem they are having. I hope something I say can someday can mean as much to someone else as my favourite quotations mean to me. To explain why, I turn to (not surprisingly) some of my favourite quotations.
“Colours fade, temples crumble, empires fall, but wise words endure.”
– E. Thorndike
“Ah! What a wondrous thing it is to note how many wheels of toil one thought, one word can set in motion.”
– Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
“A word is dead when it is said, some say. I say it just begins to live that day.”
– Emily Dickinson
“Simple little turns don’t phaze me. Simple little words amaze me.”
– Hedley

I’m constantly inspired by famous quotes i read in books, magazines, on television, in literature books. I wish that one day i could say something wise and thoughtful and someone would document it, write it, publish it and hopefully someone out there would read it and feel inspired by it…the hitch? I have to think of something really meaningful and wise to say and find someone who works in publishing to say it! :]
so far I’ve been quoted by a friend, we were helping another friend when she was in a tough spot (crying)
and out of the blue my friend blurts to my other friend
“it’s like what she said (referring to me)- “ask yourself, what spectacular thing happened today? What one good thing happened? ” I sat utterly shocked she remembered i said this and then even more shocking, the girl stopped crying and said “well, someone said my bracelet was pretty” (through giggles)
after that moment i was more than just astounded, but immensely flattered.
I think I get quoted more often than I thought. My friend Laura has quoted me a lot lately. Done!
So I guess I have been quoted in Newspaper’s and other things but I want it to be something that is wise or witty.
I am often quoted by my best friend. I never thought that was enough before. But I have seen some of the things I’ve said and they are enough.
I was quoted in an article in the New York Times about the predominance of men living in lower Manhattan. I was the one dissenting voice. Everyone I know living down here is female!
i got quoted = yay
the quote itself = not so great.
One from a drunken party where i embarrassed myself.
O’well :P
For me, it was PR Leads. I’m fortunate to have an advanced degree, but I’ve also gotten writing work from it. This one gets 2 thumbs and 8 fingers up!
I glanced through other people’s entries, and it looks like this means different things to different people. For me, it meant in major newspapers and magazines.
Does it count if it’s by your brother? If it does, then technically I’ve been quoted twice. One is “It’s not always about the truth, sometimes it’s about the lies you learn to live with” and Two is a response to the question,”So, where are you going?” I usually say, “To Hell, eventually”. He seemed to get a kick out of that one. That’s it…for now.
