We would have purchased a Toyota Camry hybrid if the price tag was not so steep – alas, we went with the gasoline-powered version.
Maybe next time. :/

Well, we test drove both the Toyota Prius and the Honda Civic, and our conclusion was that neither of those cars will be suitable for our needs [insert expletive]! The Prius had a nice/innovative instrument panel, but felt like a ‘tin death box’ on the freeway at 70 mph (not good; I log LOTS of freeway miles during my commutes from bumpkinland), and the Civic hybrid is a bit pricey for its less-than-spectacular mileage rating.
The verdict?
Until automakers start offering hybrid technology as standard equipment (I know – good luck there!), I guess that we will have to keep driving cars with gas engines. Current top candidates are Honda Accord (black) and Toyota Camry (red).
Argh.

We will be testing the Toyota Prius, and the Honda Civic hybrid…to replace our Honda Accord (2005).
60 MPG…that is going to do wonders for our bank account.
Oh…and it will be good for the planet, too. ;)

We will need to replace our Honda Accord this summer, and have started to investigate our options.
Either way, we’ll cut our use of fossil fuels, which is a high priority for us. Even though ethanol is still in its infancy as a primary fuel source, and is therefore not really ‘cheap,’ it’s at least a step in the right direction.
And there’s an E85 station just a few miles our house. :)
