willowtandraDecided...

Not to work under a business name at this time. Found out it costs $100 to register a business name with the Sec. of State, and if we don’t register the name we could get fined. So, for now it will be selling on eBay, which will cost us some fees, but I’m guessing that in the long run this will be an okay way to get us started. We don’t have the money to set up a website that may or may not get traffic, so the money might as well go to a place we will get traffic. As soon as the TIN gets approved we’ll place our order :) Anyone need anything in the spiritual realm??? 4 years ago

willowtandraGetting closer!

This is the closest I have been to this goal yet. My husband and I decided to stop talking and start doing. We have found a reliable wholesaler, we are registering for a TIN, and now I just have to do some research to make sure our business name is not taken. We are going to start very small to test the waters, in a tough economy don’t want to spend a lot of money in an area we will ultimately fail in…we just want a chance :) 4 years ago

willowtandraFeedback

I told my husband that this coming week when we are both home I want to list the stuff I have around the house on eBay, that includes the Mary Kay stuff I have which today I am officially not a consultant anymore.

However, I’ve been telling him for the last several months I need to get everything listed. We’ve had it boxed up for awhile now. If I get rid of the stuff we have for eBay that will clear up some space in my basement also assisting with the clean house and organize goals I have. It’s amazing how many of my goals go hand in hand.

Anyway, by listing the household stuff I can build feedback while deciding if I want my business to be based on a craft I make or just a bunch of used stuff, much of which I can get from garage sales and goodwill. I guess I could do a mix of both. Household stuff seems to sell if you have the right stuff, and that would give me time to run trial and error on the other stuff.

With this declining economy right now, extra money will be helpful. On the other hand, with the declining economy people may be less likely to buy new things…but used stuff might be more plausible. Hmmm…lot’s to think about. I’ll have to consult more with my husband. He’s better at business stuff than I am. 4 years ago

willowtandraBought a new book yesterday

I buy a lot of books…you know.

Anyway, I got a new book on creating “amulet bags” with seed beads. I’ve always wanted to learn how to make those clutch purses out of beads, so now I can learn the technique. I think this will be something unique I can build upon for our eBay store…if we ever get it up and running!! 6 years ago
