See an ocean

Not sure it counts the way I wanted it to be, but I have seen Atlantic Ocean from the airplane, with boats and sea gulls and waves. Wonderful!

I first saw the Atlantic ocean in Rhode Island, meandering through the East coast this past summer…

Now I’m living in Mexico, and I’ve seen the Gulf of Mexico (this counts as part of the ocean!), and before I leave here I’m going to see the Pacific!

I can’t imagine not having seen one, having grown up right next to one. But now that I’m in what passes for “the Midwest” I can imagine what a huge thing it must be to see the ocean if you’ve never seen anything larger than a lake or a river.

Seeing an ocean is such a romanticized thing. If you ever see this type of experience on TV or in the movies it’s always such a big deal. People on the coasts probably think nothing of it, but I live in the midwest (next to the world’s second largest lake, but that’s not the same) but I haven’t seen any ocean. Someday I will. Someday soon :)
