I am interested in doing this for so many reasons. I’ve been living a lifestyle that has the potential of turning on me. It’s been hard transitioning, especially when I’ve been preoccupied with old habits.

There is an organic co-op farm not far from where I live. I’m going to see if I can get started doing volunteer work there.

I want to do this in Australia, probably after I graduate with my AA.

I had a mini farm this summer in my backyard. It was awesome and my roomate helped me so much. I compost and use that amazing soil. There is nothing better than eating veggies that you grow. I just went out and cut some lettuce and the few remaining basil leaves. Ahhh, heaven!

But I still actually want to work on a farm for awhile. SO I am not done yet with this goal.

I worked at an urban farm volunteering last summer- it was great! Granted, spent much of the time shoveling compost, but it was in good company (my compost-shoveling partner was working on his French, so we counted wheelbarrow-fulls en francais together). Anyway, I loved being outside and feeling so tired at the end of the day. And the cute kitten wandering around the greenhouses didn’t hurt, either . . .

i am planning on working on a farm this summer in California with some friends. I am really excited about it and cant wait to find one that will take all three of us.

I go to a camp every summer on an organic farm to work, etc. And every summer it is one of the best experiences of my year/life. I do someday want to work more on an organic farm, however, if that means going back as a counsler (this will be my last year as a camper), WWOOFing, or something else entirely.

Covered Bridge Produce 3 years ago

I’m on week 4 of my paid internship at Covered Bridge Produce! I found it through http://www.organicvolunteers.com/ which is a site I’d reccomend to everyone. It’s a CSA in Oley, PA (outside of Philly), and I am currently one of two interns. Three more are starting within the next two weeks. So far we’ve been pulling out last years dead crops, planting seeds and transplanting, and riding (for the most part) smoothly over all the little bumps that come our way!

It hasn’t come without challenges for me, but overall I like it, and I’d definately say it’s very worth doing.
