Not giving up: I still want to do this 17 months ago

It’s not possible to learn until I actually have an accordion… right now, buying one is not a priority until after our house is finished. So, I am not giving up, just moving it off my current list so I won’t have to see it every time I log in, and think, ‘Oh, I still don’t have a nice little Stagi Hayden Duet concertina’ (the kind I’m looking for). When the time is right, I’m sure I’ll find one. Then I’ll bring this goal back to the active list.

I just don't have time for this right now! 18 months ago

I’m not going to do it this year and I don’t want to do it so badly that I’d consider it a life goal. Maybe I’ll pick up this goal again later but for now it’s not important.

    I found a Mentor!! 23 months ago

I bought my button accordion in a charity fundraiser shop about 6 months for about $35 but couldn’t figure out what key it is in and kind of gave up on it.
Fast forward to last weekend… I went to a German restaurant in Maleny, QLD (Australia) called King Ludwig’s. They had an accordion player there. I told him I had bought an accordion and couldn’t figure it out. He told me about a group of players who get together 4 times a year and he gave me his contact details and said he would show me the basics and I was welcome to come to the accordion gatherings.
    Cool as.

Button accordions, maritime music, and boats 2 years ago

Somehow the sound of a button accordion makes me happy, and it always reminds me of being on a boat. I live in the Maritimes, and love music, especially Newfoundland and Acadian music. Someday I would like to find a concertina and play some of the tunes that are floating around in my head. I already play tin whistle. Too bad so few people picked this goal… a jam session would be fun!
