be independent

I have made some serious gains on this issue within the past several months. I’ve been more “daring” when it comes to going places by myself i.e. getting my own gas, doing my own banking, going to appointments alone. It’s the simple things I used to lean on others for that I’m now beginning to do on my own. I recently got an apartment with my boyfriend and have conquered driving to that busy area on my own. Now I just need to fully leave my parents’ house and start my own life. I also just leased a Rav4 – a few years ago, me driving an SUV would be unheard of.

I am 28 and still dependent. I know my parents are worried about me, and the more they worry the more it upsets me.

I need focus and independence, and honestly I’m not really trying and really need to.

It’s very embarassing, and I always find reasons why I can’t be independent.

i really wanna live alone and work and make my own money and just never depend on others!!

All I want to be is independent.To be able to make my own decisions on where to go and what to see.

ive been in a relationship for over 2 years now and i feel that ive lost most of my independence. and my own mind. i love my boyfriend very much yes, but i need to be my own person. and he completely understands and supports that. [which im very grateful for]
how do i let myself go and walk out there all alone? any advice? i want to do things on my own and in my own way. i want to be positive and be proud of who i am and what i can accomplish.

I do believe that I can effectively call myself independent. Suuurrree I still rely on my parents for insurance, but who at 22 and as a full time student doesn’t really? ok so there are people who don’t… but they would if they could!
