Finally found the yarn I need to finish my afghan. Will restart it this week.
A couple of girlfriends and I got together and crocheted scarves. We are supposed to wear them by this weekend…but I think it will be too warm in SoCal to wear them. I still have to finish mine.
I found this great pattern, easy as it can be, and beautiful.
Just hdc and sl st throughout. EASY! and it has lots of texture.
This pattern would be great also for a hat.
I just found this about newsboy cap I’ve been wanting to make:

I joined a crochet group that meets closeby once a month. So far we’ve made a pumpkin (not sure what I’ll do with that…but it was cute!) and a multicolored “granny” hexagon. That was really cool. Next month we’ll make a baby outfit or something Xmassy.
I love it, it’s fun and relaxed and everybody is super nice. I also like that we meet at a bookstore where I can get some more crochet books and have coffee afterwards.
I crochet every once in a while and it’s pretty therapeutic, but I just don’t get around to finishing projects. Maybe I should change the goal to …finish more projects…
Yikes! The other day while I was looking through boxes of yarn I found a project I had started about 2 years ago. An afghan!! Glad the pattern was right there in the same bag, I started crocheting it again and got about 50% done. Run out of yarn. Went to JoAnn’s over the weekend but they didn’t have the colors I needed. Will try another store this week. I’m excited to finish it this time around, that will be my first afghan. It is pretty warm, so I can only crochet in the early morning or late evening when it’s cool.
A friend of mine is going to Argentina next weekend and will be seeing my family. Since it’s almost impossible to send anything to my family without it being “lost” or opened I only send stuff with friends.
I’ve been crocheting like crazy trying to finish some new clothes for my niece’s doll. I even bought a Barbie for myself…yikes! I need it to fit the clothes. So far I made a cotton cream jacket and skirt, a variegated short skirt with coordinating top…but I’m most proud of a long black coat. It’s made in worsted weight yarn with hem, neck and cuffs in “Fun Fur”. I can’t upload pictures today…can’t find the camera! but I’ll be taking pics for sure before I send those out. My husband says that I should sell my creations, I think they are nice but not sure that they are good enough to sell. Anyway, it’s nice to know he likes what I do.
K is always asking me to make clothes for her Barbie. I got some beautiful yarn and made a short cocktail dress, a long ballroom skirt and a couple of twirly scarves for Barbie.
Also, during our vacation I made twirly scarves for my mom, sister, grandma and niece. We went shopping for natural fiber yarn and found one that my husband liked for a scarf (NOT twirly!)
Started a complicated (for me)lacy scarf last week…it’s coming along, but it’s not a scarf I can crochet while watching TV I found. It needs my undivided attention.
i’m so glad i finally took a class and am back at it a little bit even if i’m not really making anything useful just yet.
i signed up for a 3 hour intro to crochet class at the local knitting/crochet type place… this should remind me how to do the basic things so i’ll be comfortable enough to get back to it without being scared of how to start on it… and i’ll probably end up buying some pretty new skiens there!
I find myself crocheting daily first as a stress relief then a hobby, still hobby but, also business to.
I love to crochet. I am hoping to one day write my own patterns. I do design a lot of the things I make but, yet to write the patterns as I go.
I have so many half finished scarves, hats, gloves, etc. I need to finish just one of them!!
