...to the store where I’m picking it up! It’s on the truck from the last stop it makes before it gets to me. I just hope the store has their act together and gets it checked in and ready for me to pick up. I could be riding around the town over Labor Day weekend!

How I did it: Once I had the space to store a bike, I looked through Craigslist, and responded to the cheapest ad. I bought the bike and later took it to a repair shop, who said it wasn't worth paying for it. Still, I'm happy that I at least went out and got one, though I am considering a future upgrade. I only use this bike occasionally so I did not want to spend much on it. Read how I did it…

How I did it: Well, it was pretty easy for me. My job allows me a certain allocation of money to be used on sports and fitness equipment. I haven't ridden a bike in nearly 15 years, but who am I to turn down a new bicycle? I picked out what I wanted...and bought it.Diamond Back Sorrento 09. Read how I did it…

How I did it: well about 3 years ago I let a friend barrow my bike, long story short she left it at some kids house and the kid sold it? so I've been out of it for a while. This fall though I started thinking about buying a new bike but then when it came down to things I could not for the life of me figure out what I wanted it. Eventually I made a pro-con list, which didn't do me much good between a mountain or road bike. I ended up o… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I haven't had a working or big enough bike since I was maybe 6 or 7 years old, so I asked for one for my 17th birthday. I ended up buying a Columbia one, and it's AWESOME. Good sale too! Read how I did it…
How I did it: Well I didn't really buy the bike, it was a gift from my girlfriend. I picked out the bike a long time ago but so she bought me the bike for an X-mas gift. We had to go to about 10 different stores to find the one I liked. Read how I did it…

Won’t consider this one finished until I actually have the bike. But the transaction has been made and it’s on it’s way! Since none of the stores close to me carried the model I wanted, I ordered it online. It should be here before Labor Day weekend!
I got one for my birthday. A 26” inch Diamondback Mountain bike with grip shifters and a ‘mod’ kick stand. Now if only there were enough air in the tires to support my fat ass.
I found the one I want.

Cute little cruiser bike, nice whitewalls. But it’s still a seven speed to tackle those hills by the house. Now all I have to do is wait for payday… 8 days and counting…
No, it’s smog. Los Angeles, the home of movie stars, bikinis, and freeways. With the latter however, come some pretty grave sights (unless you count Kristen Stewart’s acting). Being an environmental studies major, I’ve decided to stop buying into cars being the best mode of transportation. Take a ride outside and enjoy nature, because you know, it’s kind of important.

My best friend was moving to Montana so I bought her Schwinn for $50. It seems like a great little bike!

i haven’t ridden since i was a teenager.. riding along happily in my neighborhood.. with not a worry in the world.. those days are long gone lol
i went biking with a friend over the weekend (short 10 mile city trip) and decided it was time to buy a bike of my own
i liked the cadent ft1 a lot.. and the price was decent ($479).. which i guess is reasonable for a brand new bike..
i’ll be doing mostly roadies in this anyway.. with the occasional dirt trail
I have been thinking about getting a bike for a few reasons. The first is that it is better on the environment for me to ride a bike instead of drive my car. The second is that gas prices are just silly expensive. They are going back up again, and I am tired of watching the prices. Third, riding a bike would help me get into better shape. I have been pretty sedentary lately, and it would be nice to get active again.
As I live in a pretty car-centric place I don’t think I will give up my car just yet. That is something I would eventually like to do, even if just for a little while. But that is a goal for sometime in the future. The bike comes first!
Since I can ride public transit for free, I am hoping that I can get places a lot cheaper if I pair taking the bus with my bike.
I haven’t ridden a bicycle since I was a teenager. However, Frogette loves to bike, and she’s getting too fast to walk with while she does so. Frog also likes to ride, and he would really like us all to go as a family.
I do not, however, have the money or the interest in buying a fancy shmancy bike. I’d much rather buy used. I’ve looked at a few garage sales, but haven’t seen one yet. I’ll try the thrift stores next, and then look at Craig’s List. Ideally, I’d like a very simple, easy to ride, no-maintance, toddler-seat addition possible one that I can get for under 60 dollars.
(Advice from the pedal power people is welcome.)
